How to apply

For salaried individuals:

  • Home loan application form
  • Original and one photocopy of your ID or passport
  • Residents Booklet (applicable to local PRC residents only)
  • Marriage Certificate (applicable to local PRC residents only)
  • Proof of income, such as tax returns for the past year, employment contract, employment letter or salary slips for the past three months from a reputable company and major account statements for the past three months
  • Proof of your current residential address
  • Your Property Sales and Purchase Agreement
  • Other documents as required

For self-employed individuals:

  • Home loan application form
  • Original and one photocopy of your ID or passport
  • Residents Booklet (only applicable to local PRC residents)
  • Marriage Certificate (only applicable to local PRC residents)
  • Proof of business ownership
  • Proof of income, such as major account statements for the past 12 months and/or your tax returns for the past year
  • Audited financial statements of your company for the past year
  • Proof of your current residential address
  • Your Property Sales and Purchase Agreement
  • Other documents as required

Other documents required:

  • A Letter of undertaking to state that you are fully aware of and are willing to take the risks due to any possible regulation updates, including the amendment and/or cancellation of our facility without your confirmation (for expatriates only)
  • Valid employment contract or proof of study status for over one year in China (for foreign passport holders only and not applicable to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and overseas Chinese)

We’ll guide you step by step throughout the journey of your home mortgage loan application. Please contact us for more details.

  1. Visit your nearest HSBC branch and choose the home loan that’s right for you, with the one-on-one help of one of our home loan advisors. Or fill out and send in an application to us with the relevant documents.
  2. We assess your application and arrange a property valuation. If your application is successful, we issue the home loan contract.
  3. You sign the home loan contract. We arrange a lawyer to help you with notarisation and registration.
  4. After your home loan drawdown, you can begin enjoying your dream home.

Monthly and Fortnightly Straight Line Repayments
